Foxborough Country Club is a 6607 yard golf course designed by renown golf course architect Geoff S. Cornish. The Groundbreaking was September of 1955. Nine holes were open for play on June 1, 1957.
In 1970, Geoff Cornish was rehired to design another nine holes to complete the 18 hole layout. Opening day for the second nine holes was July 3, 1971. Since then there has been additional work done to the original design.
This course has large and fast greens, so three putting is a fairly common occurrence. In addition, accurate shotmaking is a must since the fairways are tree lined and the greens guarded by numerous sand bunkers. The overall terrain is fairly flat, but there are some hills that can cause uneven lies.
